Step 1, undo what has been done and never use a force or nodeps! Step 2, upgrade up2date to centos 3 (more on this when I find our notes) Step 3, update all packages which are not customized. Step 4, baby steps on customized configs/packages. ( you will need a lot of compat rpms to work with.) Step 5, get upgraded to 4, then 5 We have upgraded all of out 7.x and 9 systems to centos 4.
