rpm -Va

I ran rpm -Va and received almost a thousand bad entries on a clean install
of 5.1 after doing some 'rpm -e'

...

S.5.....   /usr/sbin/yptest
S.5.....   /sbin/rngd
S.5.....   /usr/bin/rngtest
S.5.....   /lib/security/pam_ccreds.so
S.5.....   /usr/sbin/cc_dump
S.5.....   /usr/sbin/cc_test
S.5.....   /usr/lib/libpng12.so.0.10.0
S.5.....   /bin/dbus-cleanup-sockets
...



Removing a package and reinstalling it fixes it.


[root@host165 packages]# rpm -V perl
S.5.....   /usr/bin/a2p
S.5.....   /usr/bin/perl
S.5.....   /usr/bin/perl5.8.8
S.5.....   /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/i386-linux-thread-multi/CORE/libperl.so 
[root@host165 packages]# rpm -Uvh perl-5.8.8-10.el5_0.2.i386.rpm
Preparing...                ###########################################
[100%]
        package perl-5.8.8-10.el5_0.2 is already installed 
 [root@host165 packages]# rpm -Uvh --force perl-5.8.8-10.el5_0.2.i386.rpm
Preparing...                ###########################################
[100%]
   1:perl                   ###########################################
[100%]
[root@host165 packages]# rpm -V perl
[root@host165 packages]#

Hmmm?
