Here's an example of a DNS record that works for me: ; Zone File for hosix.com $TTL 14400 @ 14440 IN SOA ns1.hosix.com. root.alder.hosix.com. ( 2005043003 14400 7200 3600000 86400 ) hosix.com. 14400 IN NS ns1.hosix.com. hosix.com. 14400 IN NS ns2.hosix.com. hosix.com. 14400 IN A 207.58.168.98 hosix.com. 14400 IN MX 0 hosix.com. mail 14400 IN CNAME hosix.com. www 14400 IN CNAME hosix.com. ftp 14400 IN CNAME hosix.com. The named log files are pretty good at showing why things aren't working.
