Use of uninitialized value in string eq at /usr/lib64/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/x86_64-linux-thread-multi/VMware/VmPerl.pm line 114.

*WHAT* is on line 114 of VmPerl.pm?
#Force version compatability
die "Perl API Version does not match dynamic library version."
   unless (version() eq $VERSION);

On the other hand: Which build are you using?
<http://www.veenema.net/index.php?Virtualization:vmware-cmd_uit_build_22874_werkt_met_64-bit_Perl>
- Build 22874 is needed for 64bit perl.

I can't see what build of vmware-cmd I have, but I have installed VMware-server-1.0.4-56528.i386.rpm - is that what you're referring to?
