 Where is it pointing for updates?

#baseurl=http://mirror.centos.org/centos/$releasever/updates/$basearch/
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=http://mirror.centos.org/centos/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-5

Try commenting out the mirrorlist and uncommenting the baseurl
Then run
yum clean headers
yum update kernel

That should bring it in - I know the baseurl listed there has it.
I noticed the priority line - is it possible you have a different repo set with a higher priority causing an issue?
