Is there any "formal" mechanizism by which after a yum update , and kernel change
that "drivers" can automatically be recompiled and a service restarted?

Do I need to make my own?

Thanks,

Jerry
Dkms is one option. It can re-compile modules and reinstall them, but it takes some initial work to get it started.
