put this in your /etc/yum.conf file:

installonlypkgs=kernel kernel-smp kernel-devel kernel-smp-devel
kernel-largesmp kernel-largesmp-devel kernel-hugemem
kernel-hugemem-devel kernel-xenU kernel-xenU-devel
