mmh oks, I'll then compile directly from the PHP 4.4.7 source downloaded form php.net and use it with no RPM
when we are ready to migrate to PHP 5 I then use the PHP 5 RPM

you are probably adding more complexity and a lot more manual overhead by going
down the route of building the php-4 src.rpm ... but thats just my opinion.
