I am looking at T38Modem. A relatively new version is ready for someone to build an rpm for (Mar '07). But the readme warns: Q. Looks like you don't have legacy PTY devices compiled in your kernel. You need to re-compile the kernel with 'Legacy PTY Support'. Is this an issue for Centos 4.4 and/or Centos 5?
On centos4: grep -i pty /boot/config-2.6-9-* returns # CONFIG_LEGACY_PTYS is not set So I'd guess this would infact be a problem on c4. You can check for yourself on c5. -- During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act.
