/usr/X11R6 is deprecated, things have moved to /usr/bin, /usr/sbin,
/usr/lib, etc..

xterm is now in /usr/bin/xterm. yum install xterm.

The right thing to do is set PATH as appropriate and then simply use
xterm. Why are you using an absolute path?
