centos 5 usb mouse failures

I have a box that ran perfectly under 4.4. gigabyte motherboard, AM2 4200+ systems. 1 GIG RAM. I installed Centos 5 on the same box. I now see the log entries below and my USB mouse stops working.

What to do?
