Well, here is my list of bugs, in case they were not reported before,
and in case these are not Upstream problems. Any suggestions about
fixing them would be welcome.

2) /sbin/ programs are not in the path! (it may be not a bug, I am
relatively new to GNU/Linux).

Not a bug. /sbin is in root's path, not in the general user path.
(Obligatory: nu'uh, I AM ROOT!!!) Use 'su -' instead of 'su' and
you'll see that /sbin is once again in your path.

3) Possible CentOS bug, not Upstream. The driver for my modem (ftp://ftp.allieddata.com/Public/Product_Info/Analog_Modems/Tornado_562-SII/Drivers/Linux/Linux.zip),
fails to install. The tar.gz and rpm both fail, and I will provide the
output of the rpm installation:

Seems more likely that this would be a modem driver issue. That driver
appears to have been last updated in December of 2005. Quite a bit has
changed in the kernel since now and then.
