I have the Adobe (Macromedia) flash player installed on my CentOS 4.4 x86_64

Sure. Go get Adobe to support flash on a 64bit platform for linux.
Known issue. This is why most sane folks either stick the 32bit
browser on the 64bit system, or stick with a 32bit OS for desktop
operations (browser usage).
