Where did you get kopete from? A "yum list "*opet*" doesn't show the
package to me, neither in CentOS repositories nor in rpmforge.
So your conclusion "Kopete broken in CentOS 5" isn't completely true, as
we do not ship it at all.

I think kopete is in the kdenetwork package.
