Yes, I was aware of the manual means to install it, I just wanted to be
sure that the correct people were aware that (at least the dvd)
installer is broken.

now that it is installed, run:
yum grouplist
to see what is available as a group, and
yum groupinstall "GNOME Desktop Environment"
will finish the install
