This is probably a good idea anyway, but I'd like to point out that most
hardware raid cards (and linux software raid) keeps the array config on the
array members themselves. That is, you can typically swap the
raid-controller, reboot and see your old arrays.
That is *definitely* the case for 3Ware cards.
