Several people have already suggested this approach. Since we are using
MS Outlook for our MUA I checked with the MS support site and found the
IMAP folder are not supported. I have since been advised that that is
not necessarily so. 

To be honest I am loathed to even attempt this. Outlook and it's users
(mostly the later) already cause me too many problems.
