Well, on the nvidia site where you grabbed the driver software, they
have a README file which is quite thorough.....

This is fairly thorough, but it doesn't solve the problem - the driver
is nvidia, it is loaded per lsmod, and one of the modules is glx, but
dri and GLcore are not.

So this does not appear to be the problem - I am running the 3D drivers.

Then let's have a look at your xorg.conf and your Xorg.0.log.
