This is incorrect - motherboard is Abit KN9 (Nforce 4 Ultra chipset)

Are you sure? The Abit KN9 does not use Nforce 4.

I know - Abit has made things confusing with the KN9, KN9S and KN9 SLI.
The boards I have are the KN9 NF4 Ultra [0]. The other offerings
are chipsets Nvidia 550 MCP [1], Nvidia 570 SLI [2], and Nvidia
570 Ultra MCP [3].

I can only imagine the marketing department at Abit is only a little
less than schizophrenic these days.
