Yes and no. Most modern rackmount kit comes with a tear-off system info card with MAC address, asset tag and the like attached for this sort of purpose. Obviously the value of this depends on your build systems but you should, theoretically, be able to rack a system and build it with minimal intervention once the tear-off tag's information's inserted into your management systems [1].
