Sounds about right. The name of the "pseudo device" (link) doesn't really
matter. You can call it /dev/ItsiBitsi and it will still work.

The "easiest" to use would be Xine, I suppose. It should be avaliable
on RPMforge (or directly on dag's repository, see dag.wieers.com/packages).
