Here's my default procmail I drop in /etc/procmailrc on systems that need 
Maildir through sendmail:

DROPPRIVS=YES
DEFAULT=$HOME/Maildir/

This will deliver incoming mail to a Maildir off the user's home directory, 
and Dovecot defaults work just fine with that.
