I'm using the version 4.4 of CentOS Cd with the mode "linux rescue"

I have never tried to reuse the cdrom in rescue mode. It might be locked,
and would explain why the nodes don't get created.I will play with it in
vmware.
Which rescue Cd are you using? 3, 4, or the live CD.
