I believe there is physical limit of 4 gigs on a 32 bit system. So you may
want to consider going 64 anyways for this server.

replace it.

At this point, I've tried swapping the NIC's, it doesn't seem to change the behavior.

I'm currently downloading the iso images for 4.4-ia64 just to see if that helps, but I'm
not necessarily getting a warm and fuzzy that's going to do anything for me.

You're downloading the wrong image. You want x86_64. ia64 is for the Itanic.
