I was wanting to run the equivalent of "hdparm -Tt /dev/hda"
except on a SATA hard disk. What is the equivalent
command for an SATA drive?

I was wanting to see what kind of speed I am getting on the
SATA drive.

I've never been a fan of hdparm's speed testing. 'bonnie++ -f' is probably the quickest and most analogous.
