i try the next:
/usr/lib/sasl2/Sendmail.conf
pwcheck_method:shadow
/etc/ld.so.conf
/usr/lib/sasl2
i think than this is my problem, i don't know where i put this lines:
# SASL2 (smtp authentication)
APPENDDEF(`confENVDEF', `-DSASL=2')
APPENDDEF(`conf_sendmail_LIBS', `-lsasl2')
because, the file site.config.m4 that'snt exist in centos 4. i'm lost.
any comments or light in the darkness is welcome, if just i block the access without login to telnet....i will so happy.

Perhaps I am being overly simplistic but has that port been opened in
iptables?
