When I run yum update (as I said in a previous message), I get some
errors stating that I have dependencies. One viewer stated that I am
getting yum data that is out of date.

Where is the config file that holds this data and what is the correct
location?

# yum clean
or
# yum clean all

... will clear down any locally cached yum information. The Yum
configurations themselves are held in

/etc/yum.conf #(main configuration file, repositories can
be configured here)
/etc/yum.repos.d/ #(individual repository configurations in
reponame.repo files)

Will.
