A few words of advise: 1) Always try updates on a sandbox before putting them on your production servers. You always have a good chance of updates breaking things, be it CentOS, Oracle, Microsoft, Solaries, AIX or anything else. Just naming a few I had past experiences of breakage on update. 2) Consider everything outside the Base repository as UNSTABLE. If it were stable enough, it would be on the Base repository.
