Hi,

Is it possible to configure a CentOS4.x machine to perform a network logon with a samba server, like we can do with windows xp without having to create local users?

Samba only supports NT Domains but that will do the job. Windows XP still supports NT Domains. So yes, you can configure a Centos 4.x machine to handle a domain.
