Lost printing with last update

After I updated today (~189 updates) I have lost the ability to print:

[dick@c-24-63-101-211 ~]$ ls |lpr
lpr: error - stdin is empty, so no job has been sent.


Anyone having the same problem?  Any clues to a cure?
