network running at 10 or 100, how to tell

mii-tool does give the info requested as seen below:

[root@insanity ~]# mii-tool
eth0: negotiated 100baseTx-FD, link ok

however ethtool gives significantly more. Apparently I'm a bit behind
the times in my networking scripts. I was unaware that mii-tool was
considered deprecated. Good to know.
