Okay, now we're getting somewhere. First off, you did chroot, correct? Secondly, how was /dev/mapper/vg0-sysroot setup on the old system? Is the rescue mode creating a /dev/mapper/(whatever)? In a nutshell, GRUB must understand how to load the root at boot.
