Apache 2.x and php???

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

My understanding is that it is not recommended to run PHP with Apache
2 - unless Apache 2 is run in prefork mode. This is because many
popular PHP libraries are not thread safe (although PHP itself is.)
The stock CentOS Apache is in prefork mode I believe and that is why
there are no problems.

Apache prefork:

PHP manual warning about Apache 2 in threaded mode:

faq.installation.php#faq.installation.apache2
