Thank you, Josh! I can see that for more recent kernels there is a per-build granularity of commits. Going back a couple of years, there don't appear to be individual commits between releases 408 and 448, such that the diff at https://gitlab.com/redhat/centos-stream/src/kernel/centos-stream-8/-/commit/1edafaf46263bb8482d6e7eeb87ecc17d8aa925c contains several million lines.
