What version are you using? Referring to it as "Recent ... yum
upgrade for firefox" is relative so hard to respond to. The output
from a "rpm -qa ..." command would be useful.

 I'm using:

 firefox-115.6.0-1.el7.centos.x86_64

 and also:

firefox 121.0.1 (64-bit) -- from the Mozilla repo

and am not seeing issues with either.

The version I downgraded to is 102.15.0.
The upgrade that crashes I believe is 115.15.0.
This is on an x_86-64 machine.
