It is , but expect rough edges.
The differences will be :
- Shorter lifetime .If you skip the first 2 minor releases -it will be shorter
- No chance to "yum history undo last" as there are no older packages . You have to use Boom boot manager to rollback OS updates
- More testing is needed as the chance that someone broke something is bigger
