By default CDROM drives are usually /dev/sr*

CD drives are not block devices.  Why not use 'hwinfo --cdrom'?

# hwinfo --cdrom --short
cdrom:                                                          
  /dev/sr0             TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-H653H
