Recommendation for HTML editor (a better approach?)

I'm still considering all the options people are presenting. But I
wondered about Quanta plus in that if it's tied to KDE, won't it require
that I download a billion different KDE packages? And isn't there a CPU
cost in running a KDE program in Gnome?

Last time I did this, I tried to install Amarok and it seemed to install
KDE and make it my default desktop without me even wanting it to. I
tried working within KDE for a while, just to see how I liked it, and
decided I preferred Gnome.

So while Quanta looks appealing, is it really feasible to run it in
Gnome?
