From the man page [fsck.xfs(8)]: "XFS is a journaling filesystem and performs recovery at mount(8) time if necessary, so fsck.xfs simply exits with a zero exit status". If you need a deeper examination use xfs_repair(8) and note that: "the filesystem to be repaired must be unmounted, otherwise, the resulting filesystem may be inconsistent or corrupt" (from the man page).
