On the Dell E6500 installed CentOS 7.0 from DVD ( development workstation ) wifi works updated to CentOS 7.1 ( 7.1503 ) using vault.centos.org wifi works updated to CentOS 7.2 ( 7.1511 ) using local repo wifi works So I ended up with a working 7.2.
