UPS tool ?

I'll second your recommendation of apcupsd. I use it on my
home network in my basement.

I have the apcupsd master connected via serial cable. There are
three three client apcupsd machines and a switch plugged into
the UPS as well. If the power goes out for too long the master
sends shutdown commands to the clients.

Works perfectly.
