Can't access files at localhost

this might be a dumb question, but are you trying to access this site 
from the same box?  ie, did you bring up firefox on the server were the 
website is located?  

if not, replace localhost with the ip address.   if so, try accessing 
just http://localhost/ and see if anything comes up.
