have you tried 6.5 with latest yum update patches?


If it does the same thing, then its quite likely Red Hat you need to 
file the report with, as Centos is a work-alike built from Red Hat 
Enterprise Linux sources.     if RHEL 6 behaves differently, than the 
CentOS folks will want to investigate.
