It depends on what your needs are.  I use Centos exclusively on my desktop, my laptop and my netbook; my wife uses it on her desktop and laptop as well.  Centos does everything that we need it to do; neither of us use Windows or any other Linux distribution (outside of Android on our cell phones, that is).

Yes.  I use both of those regularly.
