mount exited with exit code 18

Hey Y'all,

I'm trying to mount a USB drive with an NTFS file system on it.  I need 
the drive in a win-7 virtual box instance.

Error Dialog is:

Error mounting: mount exited with exit code 18: Error opening 
'/dev/sdc1': Read-only file system
Failed to mount '/dev/sdc1': Read only file system

[root@mushroom /]# ls -l /dev/disk/by-id | grep usb
