As I recall there was one rpm file that was not up to speed with CentOS 
that would always pop up in the update notification tool.  Audacity 
worked well.  I didn't detect anything else that didn't work.

If you would be so kind as to remind me of the repo where Audacity can 
be found I will install it and tell you exactly which file has the issue.
