yeah, I found out they could take 2 x 8GB about 30 hours after I'd 
placed my order for 2x4GB ....

hmm, that PN isn't ECC, did you use non-ECC memory?   I'm kind of a 
stickler for using ECC on servers, helps prevent bit errors from 
creeping in.
