I'd expect 6 to work. Have you checked the integrity of the image on the USB drive or the USB drive itself? Have you Googled your problem to see if anybody else has experienced the same thing? Alternatively, you could download the net install iso (it's very small) & burn a copy of that. Or if you have access to Apache somewhere, you can copy the DVD iso to /var/www/html/ & do a network install from there. Same thing goes for an NFS install (I've no idea of what resources you have).
