This is because in RHEL-3 mysql-server is not on the original ISOs.  It
is not in the comps.xml for install either.  This was due to some
questions in the licensing for MySQL AB.  (Those issues have since been
resolved.)

CentOS-3.1 through 3.4 followed this pattern as well and we added mysql-
server to addons repository on the mirrors ... as this is what the
addons directory is for.  Items that build from the SRPMS but are not on
the actual RHEL-3 CDs.

However, since not having mysql-server is totally ridiculous ...
starting in version 3.5, it will now installable via the normal install.
