The generally accepted route is to make a request on the mailing list of 
an appropriate repository, for example, repoforge (rpmforge):

Such repositories are usually more than willing to accept donations such 
as hardware and/or bandwidth to assist with hosting, or offers to 
mirror. Some developers/packagers have individual wish lists on Amazon 
if you'd like to make a personal donation to express your gratitude and 
I guess if you are desperate to part with your hard cold cash then 
they'd be willing to accept that too (although in my personal experience 
people tend not to do this for financial reward).
